3 Tips To Help You Start Manifesting Your Dreams & Desires Like a Pro!
Posted by Sue in Inspirational thoughts
Do you remember that first spark of hope you felt when you watched the movie “The Secret”? I clearly remember the excitement that filled my heart, knowing that – Yes, I can make my dreams come true – FINALLY!
But how many of us soon saw that hope dwindle into frustration? How many of us (and let’s be honest here) started muttering things like:
- “It seems to work for other people, but I just can’t get it right.”
- “I’m frustrated that sometimes I can get it to work, but sometimes I can’t. What’s the trick?”
- “Why am I having so much trouble?”
- “I think the Universe must just be against me.”
- “I’m trying really, REALLY hard but still nothing is happening!”
Don’t worry, you’re not alone. About 97% of people couldn’t make the “Law of Attraction” work for them the first time round. Think about it, just like anything else, you have to practice things many times before you see successful results. A toddler doesn’t learn to walk without falling over a couple of times, right?
But in practice, implementing the Law of Attraction is easier said than done. When you’re frustrated, it’s hard to stay positive. And it’s especially hard to stay positive when the evidence all around you is screaming negativity - like the unstable economy or high crime rates or world hunger.
But do you know what happens when you fail to stay positive? That’s right – you start attracting negative things directly in to your own life.
So how can you make the Law of Attraction work for you – without getting frustrated? How do those who successfully implement the Law of Attraction do it with such confidence and finesse?
Well, here’s three quick tips so you will never again feel frustrated or get tired of begging from the universe, because you’ll know how to start manifesting like a pro.
1) Allow Yourself to Receive
Just like a lost child who approaches a police officer and asks, “Excuse me Sir, can you tell me how to get to the police station? Can you? Can you? Can you? Can you? Can you?” Well, if the child goes on and on asking and talking, the police officer can’t get a word in to give his answer, right?
Well, it’s the same way with your mind. If the only thing your mind is doing is transmit, transmit, transmit, the universe — which is trying to respond — can’t give you a single thing because you’re not allowing yourself to receive!
So, have faith in yourself and stop exhausting yourself by running around person to person begging for riches, and then wondering why nobody is dropping a penny in your cup. (Hint: It’s because you’re running away too fast from them - before they can even reach for their wallets).
Just think about your desires and leave them out there, then go away and trust that your cup will be filled with gold coins (or whatever it is you asked for) when the time is right.
2) Be Patient With Yourself
Receiving takes time.
Sadly, many people give up just a couple of steps before the finish line because they’ve decided that if it’s not working by now, it’s never going to work. Worse still are those who throw in more and more energy because they think that with more resources, the results will come faster.
You can’t bake cookies in half the time by doubling the temperature. You’ll incinerate those cookies to ashes!
In simple terms, everything in this world has a natural development cycle, and this fact will not change no matter what resources you throw at it.
So relax and be patient. Remember that you, as part of the universe, are also governed by the laws of the universe, and you cannot change the natural development time.
If you remember this, you are less likely to work yourself up into a state of frustration, or worse, push yourself into a downward spiral of negativity.
3) Support & Educate Yourself
Like the child who is learning how to walk, you need support. You also need expert guidance on how to do it and the role models to look up to and emulate.
Many people give up because they think that “The Secret” is the “be all and end all” solution. Well, it’s NOT. “The Secret” is just a small portion. It has never been and was never intended to be the whole answer.
Drawing the conclusion that the Law of Attraction doesn’t work, when all you ever did to educate yourself was watch “The Secret” 19 times (without looking at changing the habits of other areas of your life) is like coming to the conclusion that exercising is not an effective way to lose weight because all you did was run on the treadmill for 2 hours a day (but continued to stuff yourself with fried foods and cheesecakes).
So seek and be hungry for new knowledge. Also, make an effort to be among people and communities where you can support each other, learn from each other and share new knowledge that you have found.
While the Law of Attraction is not an overnight delivery service, it will indeed deliver, if you do your part too!

Why Married Women Should Avoid “Girl’s Night Out”
Posted by Sue in jokes
I get some of the funniest jokes from my youngest sister, Alex! This one absolutely tickled my funny-bone so I decided to share it with you! If you don’t laugh out loud you have lost your sense of humor!!
“The other night I was invited out for a night with the ‘girls.’ I told my husband that I would be home by midnight, ‘I promise!’ Well, the hours passed and the margaritas went down way too easily.
Around 3 a.m., a bit loaded, I headed for home. Just as I got in the door, the cuckoo clock in the hallway started up and cuckooed three times.
Quickly, realizing my husband would probably wake up, I cuckooed another nine times. I was really proud of myself for coming up with such a quick-witted solution, in order to escape a possible conflict with him. (Even when totally smashed… three cuckoos plus nine cuckoos totals 12 cuckoos–MIDNIGHT!)
The next morning my husband asked me what time I got in and I told him ‘MIDNIGHT.’ He didn’t seem upset in the least. Whew, I thought, I got away with that one!
Then he said ‘We need a new cuckoo clock.’
When I asked him why, he said, ‘Well, last night our clock cuckooed three times, then said, ‘oh, sh*t,’ cuckooed four more times, cleared its throat, cuckooed another three times, giggled, cuckooed twice more, and then tripped over the coffee table and farted.”

What Drives Me Crazy About the Internet
Posted by Sue in About me
I am still what I would consider a bit of a novice (I can’t stand the term “newbie”) at internet marketing. I have designed a website for my UFirst business, www.GPsforFinances.com, and have two blogs up and running (somewhat), www.MrsMoneyMerge.com and this one. I’ve also joined several social networking groups (you can follow me on Twitter here). I accomplished this as result of investing a lot of time, energy and studying, as well as by taking an internet marketing course offered by a senior manager in my business organization.
Prior to starting the course last August, I had no idea what a “blog” was. I thought it was something (like texting) that my teenage niece does. I was amazed and excited to find out what it really is and the power it offers.
Now we come to the title tie-in - I’ve been researching and reading many blogs, online articles and websites and I am appalled at how many so-called “professional internet marketers” obviously don’t proofread their work (or, not to be rude, maybe never graduated from middle school?)! Simple spelling and grammatical errors abound all over the internet.
Having been (in my mind, at least) a business professional for many years, I was taught that you only get one chance to make a first impression, whether it’s in person, on the telephone or via the written word (a letter, an ad, a brochure, an email, a website or a blog). My mother, who was a bit of a “social-snob,” taught me that people make any number of judgments about you based on the first impression you make.
If I’m attempting to persuade someone to trust me enough to purchase something from me, I would like them to believe first that I am a professional in my chosen field. I would also like them to believe that I care enough about my business and my customers to take care of the details. Proofreading blog posts, website content, ebooks and marketing materials is one of those details!
As a result of my strong feelings about this subject and my natural apptitude for finding the errors (most menus drive me nuts!), I’ve decided to start my own proofreading service. The personal development “gurus” say to do what you love and are passionate about and the money will follow. As you’ve figured out by now, I am passionate about error-free copy and I love to read.
If you would like to post professional error-free content on the web and would like to engage a second set of eyes, please send me an email at ProofreadingDiva (at) gmail (dot) com. I would be happy to provide you with a quote for my proofreading services.
From Mommy to Mother to Mom

MOTHERS
Real Mothers don’t eat quiche; they don’t have time to make it.
Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils are probably in the sandbox.
Real Mothers often have sticky floors, filthy ovens, and happy kids.
Real Mothers know that dried play dough doesn’t come out of carpets.
Real Mothers don’t want to know what the vacuum just sucked up.
Real Mothers sometimes ask ‘Why me?’ and get their answer when a little voice says, ‘Because I love you.’
Real Mothers know that a child’s growth is not measured by height or years or grade…It is marked by the progression of Mommy to Mother to Mom…
The Images of Mother
4 YEARS OF AGE - My Mommy can do anything!
8 YEARS OF AGE - My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 YEARS OF AGE - My Mother doesn’t really know quite everything.
14 YEARS OF AGE - Naturally, Mother doesn’t know that, either.
16 YEARS OF AGE - Mother? She’s hopelessly old-fashioned.
18 YEARS OF AGE - That old woman? She’s way out of date!
25 YEARS OF AGE - Well, she might know a little bit about it
35 YEARS OF AGE - Before we decide, let’s get Mom’s opinion.
45 YEARS OF AGE - Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?
65 YEARS OF AGE - Wish I could talk it over with Mom.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!
Thanks to my sister, Jeannette, for sending me this! I particularly like (and need to read often!) the last paragraph.
My sister has a 17 1/2 year old daughter (my beautiful niece Josie) and I have an almost-14 year old son, Ryan. They both fit perfectly in their age category above!!
Where do you and your wonderful children fit in this spectrum? Please let me know by leaving a comment!
A Pleasant New Year Surprise!
Posted by Sue in About me
Greetings to my readers, and please accept my apologies for neglecting you and my blog!
The first excuse I offer you will no doubt understand, because we all have very hectic schedules over the holidays. What little “on-line time” I had was spent checking on delivery dates for the gifts I ordered (thankfully, they all arrived in time!).
My second excuse for not updating my blogs (this and www.MrsMoneyMerge.com) is that my computer got majorly infected with nasty viruses and worms! The best I can figure out is that my son was trying to download free music and we got infected from one of those sites. So, I took my laptop to a new member of my BNI group and he wiped it clean. What a hassle it has been, trying to remember all of my passwords and favorite website addresses, etc.! But, the good news is, IT’S FIXED!
And, much to my suprise, there’s more good news! What with a hectic schedule, meals on-the-fly, holiday parties and dinners, I basically “fell off the wagon” with my weight loss plan. I stopped taking my MaxWLX pills and wasn’t particularly careful about what, or how much, I ate. So, I was expecting the worst today when I got on the scale and got out the measuring tape (my absolute worst enemies in the world!). But I was very pleasantly surprised with the results!
Since starting my weight loss program on October 22, 2008, my net loss is 13 pounds! And, since I started taking my measurements on November 13, I have lost 6 1/2 inches from the areas that count - bust, waist, abdomen and hips! Not bad at all!
So now it’s a new year. Time to get back on track and really accelerate my results. What will you be focusing on changing or improving in 2009? Please share your plans and goals with us!
